Deep inside,
there’re volcanic desires
rumbling, roaring, and restless,
pulsating, pulsing, and pushing.
Deep inside,
there’re volcanic desires
waiting, weeping, and wanting
connection, completion, and company.
Deep inside,
there’re volcanic desires
lonely, listening, and lusting,
for companionship, community, and communion.
Deep inside,
there’re volcanic desires
sending signals to the surface
testing, tempting and tasting.
Deep inside,
periscopic eyes surface
pining, positioning, and pursuing
appearance, achievement, and accolades.
Deep inside,
there’re volcanic desires
dissatisfied, distrustful, and depressed,
over fleeting offers and fictitious façade.
Deep inside,
there’re volcanic desires
waiting, weeping, and wanting to erupt
to release, to be received, and rest.
Deep inside,
there’re erupting volcanic desires,
waiting for embracement from the sea of human touch,
weeping for genuine friendships,
wanting to build mountains of community.
Deep inside,
there’re volcanic desires
refusing to rest
“Until it finds rest in You, O Lord.”
