“This is my Naked Body, Broken for you!”

As our society evolves, we find ourselves increasingly reliant on various dependencies, as if they have become a part of our modern fashionable lifestyle. These dependencies include credit cards, electricity, Internet connectivity, personal vehicles, excessive food consumption, and the pursuit of social status.

These modern dependencies, like stealthy thieves in the night, can be snatched away, challenging our sense of security. This suddenness leaves us not just feeling helpless and fearful but also exposed, vulnerable, and raw, a stark contrast to the comfort and security we’ve grown accustomed to in our modern lives.

Suddenly, without warning, we may find ourselves in the exact vehicle with people experiencing homelessness, refugees, and those who have fallen victim to injustice, realising the fragility of our circumstances.

Despite these realisations, rather than receiving these insights as valuable lessons, we may react with the ferocity of a cornered animal, expressing our frustration through rage, protests, demands, fights, and tears. However, these reactions, though understandable, can also be the catalyst for substantial change, breaking the cycle of fatigue, exhaustion, a lack of energy, frustration, and even depression, and leading us towards personal growth and societal change.

Amid this vulnerability and emotional nakedness, our tear-filled eyes gaze at the nakedness and brokenness of the Body of Christ, gently gazing at our own nakedness and the brokenness, saying, “This is my naked Body, broken for you.”
