Each day, I begin my prayer by reverencing the space
because my Prodigal Father
is eternally present-
waiting, calling, and drawing me, the prodigal son,
to return.
He invites me
not because I am
perfect, deserving, earned, or pure, but because God
longs to
embrace me,
kiss me,
place a ring on my finger,
offer me sandals,
give me a regal robe,
reconcile,
heal,
and celebrate my daily return.
I reverence this space
‘cause my Father waits eternally,
knowing I will leave again.
Yet, he waits eternally for me
in that space.
