Nature reveals the core of spirituality through its open windows.
God can be seen as the calm centre within a hurricane – peaceful, soothing, and the origin of creation's movement.
All of creation orbits this Centre and is driven by it.
The Great Paradox:
While the winds are turbulent, fierce, and destructive, they also represent the Holy Spirit, guiding us towards the Centre.
These stormy winds are treacherous, distracting, and perilous.
We perceive them as
Human-made and natural disasters,
conflicts, chaos, confusion,
incompleteness, imperfections,
disconnections, disruptions, and despair.
However, these winds follow a rhythm beyond our control-
an invitation to join in the dance.
We prepare for them
By letting go of our ego – the need to control- and sway
like a coconut tree in the breeze,
shedding branches of ego and leaves of control,
yet gaining the power to rejuvenate and renew.
This is an invitation to harmonise with this rhythm,
guiding us to the centre
Where an encounter with God can occur. Here,
we shed ego's customs and rely on the strength of the centre.
To work with the rhythm
Requires a disciplined mind and spirit, similar
to an athlete
Learning to navigate winds of distraction, disappointment, and destruction
To reach the centre.
From there, we find focus, faith, and resilience.
Very thought provoking Fr. Don.
